Herisa the Traveler is an international spoken word artist, host, curator, and educator who has performed for over 7 years throughout Europe and the United States. She has graced the stages of theaters, radio and TV stations, concert halls, lounges and more. To uplift morale in a historic period, she curated and hosted three large scale Juneteenth Celebrations in Madrid, Spain which was designed to harmonize the Black community, showcase vibrant creative works and use art as resistance. Herisa’s poetry is framed by her experience as a Caribbean American Black woman and highlights topics such as societal injustice, Black excellence, and self-love. She believes poetry is a form of therapy that can be inspiring and educational.
