Growing up around Birmingham, Al, one's exposed to a lot of guitar playing. Playing in local bands there sharpens your chops and exposes one to some pure songwriters. Moving to Korea and roaming about Asia for years makes for an incredible expansion of experience. Uprooting oneself from there to relocate in New York introduces a whole new set of struggles, not the least of which is an oppressive cost of living, but also an inspiring breadth and depth of culture.
