Songs are second nature to Yannick Witvoet. Mostly known by his stage name Elijah Waters. With craftsmanship at the forefront, Elijah tries to encapsulate the ever changing climate of forward moving pop culture. At 25 years old, the Rotterdam native moved to London to further dive into making songs, performing, writing for others, producing, directing, and developing his concepts to their full potential. Having done a Colors show, signing to Pulse Publishing and amassing over 15 million streams before 25 years old, Elijah has done well for himself. Renowned photographer Rankin recently invited Elijah to feature in Hunger magazine to talk about his self-produced full length project; ‘Mother, I’m Not Here’. Besides performing and trying to maneuver in a modern landscape as an artist, Rotterdam born Elijah Waters has been writing for labels all across the world such as Warner Chappel, Pulse publishing, APG, SM, and HYBE, among others. In April 2023 Elijah’s second full length was premiered in a monumental pre-war church in his hometown of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Accompanied by the largest mechanical organ in Europe. As he crooned away he left the crowd with a handful of tears. Inspiration and tears is what he aims to convey with his music he describes as “futuristic folk / post apocalyptic r&b / sad wedding music”. We will soon hear more of the post-apocalyptic R&B with his upcoming EP “you could say i’m having a summer this time around” accompanied by a new, compact, more electronically orientated live set reflecting his artistic growth and dedication to pushing boundaries.
Elijah Waters has performed in Sofar London.
