Los-Angeles based Pop R&B singer-songwriter, Raquel Castro, and music production duo, The Wildcardz (Sadie Currey and Ester Na) have teamed up to form the all-new band, eddy. Finding inspiration across the spectrum, from Frank Sinatra and Amy Winehouse to Lauryn Hill, eddy fuses infectious pop melodies with hybrid soul instrumentals to create a sound all their own. This year, the trio started sipping, singing and strumming on their weekly show, “Wine Wednesdays”. Recently, Jennifer Lopez even gave a nod to eddy's medley of her iconic hits, which helped the group rack up more than a half million views. After graduating at Berklee College of Music and then moving to Los Angeles, Sadie and Ester formed their production duo, The Wildcardz. As multi-instrumentalist and songwriters, they began writing, recording and producing songs for major artists and film and television, including Pitch Perfect III, RAYE, and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. Ester is also a touring multi-instrumentalist and performed and went on tours in the U.S, Canada and Europe with groups such as Maggie Rogers, WILLOW, Lari Basilio and many more. Raquel’s career in music was launched when she became a finalist on Season 1 of NBC's "The Voice" and then went on to win Season 2 of the show "Songland”. It landed her a major placement with R&B artist “H.E.R” with her song “Wrong Places”. Not long after winning Songland, Raquel met Sadie and Ester and the creative chemistry was instant. They soon released their first single “Serendipitous Maybe”, an uber-funky, sensual, and irresistibly inviting bop. And, quickly followed with “Fire in the Winter”, a romantic pop song infused with jazz undertones and lush string melodies. Fast forward three years, six singles, one mini EP, many Instagram live performances, and over a million streams on DSPs, the band, eddy, was born.
