Dougmore

Performed in Sofar NYC

Dougmore is a singer and songwriter based in Brooklyn, New York. His music blurs the lines between the intimacy of folk and the haunting atmospheres of psychedelia and dream-pop - echoing the earnest storytelling of seminal performers such as Neil Young, as well as the textural sonic tapestry of Wilco or The Tallest Man on Earth, among others. His forthcoming album, "Outer Boroughs" has been recorded and produced at the now defunct "Magic Shop", a legendary New York studio. While the sound of the song remains essentialist and direct, this record showcases a rather complex interaction between insightful personal lyricism and eclectic instrumentals, borrowing from ancient folklore as much as soaking inspiration from the contemporary indie-folk scene. Born Douglas Jay Goldstein, this artist is also well-known for his outstanding skills as a Banjoist and for his flamboyant performances alongside acts such as "Cricket Tell the Weather", among others. His musicianship is now combined with his deep personal outlook on life, death and spirituality, creating a honest and up-close folk experience with unique overtones and shades. Find out more:
