Indie music pioneer Los Angeles based Cynthia Catania has been performing, writing, touring, and producing music on US and Irish territory since 2003. She grew up with the indie-pop band, Saucy Monky, who were embraced by Irish radio and press from their very first gig at Whelan’s (a famous venue in Dublin). Catania has appeared on numerous TV shows, and festival stages (Oxegen, O2 in the Park, and the Colours Festival, in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and San Diego Indiefest among others). In 2019, the singer-songwriter returned to her next chapter of music-making as a solo artist. Her single 'Phones' debuted on Late Date with Fiachna ó Braonáin and RTE’s Arena. The track garnered rave reviews and substantial radio play both here and in the US. After a long performance-stricken pandemic, she touched down in Dublin once again in 2021 (mask on face, guitar in hand) for a string of Irish support dates. When the tour wrapped, Cynthia flew to Avignon, France, where she collaborated with Sue Ann Pien on the video for her single ‘Only Time Will Tell’. Pien is a lead actor/co-star in the groundbreaking new Amazon Prime series ‘As We See It’ and a film director. The two have created an impressive body of work for both the ears and the eyes - clever, beautiful, epic, and always interesting. Watch their works on Cynthia's YT channel @cynthiacatania. In 2022, Catania toured with the American rock band Ours, led by the enigmatic Jimmy Gnecco. Who she used to teach singing. A summer tour followed with Irish headliners The Riptide Movement. Recent singles include 'Something Better,' 'Frames,' and 'Beautiful Bullet (Soft Crush Remix)'. Catania just performed to a nearly sold-out crowd at her favorite LA venue, The Hotel Cafe. Currently, she's scoring the short film 'Once More, Like Rainman' set for the festival circuit in 2024.
Cynthia Catania has performed in Sofar Las Vegas and Sofar East Bay.
