Courtney Swain is a singer, pianist, and composer based in Providence, RI. Courtney fronts Bent Knee; a Boston-based rock band described by The Wall Street Journal as "[a] silo-smashing sextet [that] taps into chamber pop, industrial rock, metal and prog-rock. Featuring the versatile, ever-appealing voice of Courtney Swain, Bent Knee’s unique mix is equal parts ingenuity and deliciousness." Bent Knee's 4th album "Land Animal" was released in June 2017 from InsideOutMusic/Sony. When Bent Knee is off the road, Courtney writes and performs as a solo artist and a collaborator. She released an intimate acoustic solo EP titled "Growing Pains" in November 2017. Reviewing the EP WGBH wrote, "Swain’s lyrics hold a hidden humor, both in the occasional over-dramatics and in the inherent relatable quality to them — something that brings the listener deeper, settling in with their demons." Courtney is working on a full-length album she conceived during a residency awarded by the Turkey Land Cove Foundation.
Courtney Swain has performed in Sofar Boston.
