Bonita identified works and performances of her music as pop-folk. Her experiences in playing music with many and varied musicians made Bonita a singer who has the character and the ability to sing in strong expression and flexible manner. Born in Jakarta, May 7, 1977, Bonita grew up in a very musical family. She spend a small moment with Yashir Syam as singing mentor. After the release of her first album in 2003, Bonita was encouraged to become a singer/ songwriter. It was Bonita’s producer Yuka Dian Narendra which was continued to spur Bonita for writing and singing her own songs. In songwriting, Bonita tend to describe everyday experiences or meaning derived from a personal experience. This makes the songs she wrote are familiar to people’s common experiences. Her passion for pop music, rock, and folk thickly felt in the songs she wrote or performed. Up until now, Bonita has released two solo albums: 1. “Bonita” (self titled album) (P) & (C) 2003, Universal Musik Indonesia. Hits singels from this album were: “Merah” dan “Aku”. Produced by: Yuka Dian Narendra 2. “...laju” (P) & (C) 2009, demajors – rumahbonita. Produced by Yuka Dian Narendra. 16 songs in this album tells the episodes of Bonita’s journey between 2004-2006. Starting from the song “Rumahku” (my house) until the summary of her journey in “Jatuh Cinta” (fall in love). Some of the songs mark those episodes, such as: “Komidi Putar”, “Ari”, “Mellow”, “You Cheer Me Up”, “It’s Over Now”. Besides her recent activity with Bonita & the hus BAND (BNTHB), Bonita is doing her solo performance and projects, the recent one was on December 2017 as music director for Dialita’s Concert at Grha Bhakti Budaya Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta. “Bonita & Adoy” is in the middle if their home concert tour promoting Festival Musik Rumah (home concert festival) which will be held on 17-19 August this year, connecting ‘Nusantara family’ around the globe.
