Blue Velvet

Blue Velvet was the name that Liviu, the percutionist, always had in mind when he was thinking about his future band. So, he had a name, but not really a band. Well, what do you do when you have a name and the desire to make music, but you don't really, actually, have a band? The answer is simple: you start to pick every person you know that has some connection with music and organize jamming sessions at your own place. And that's how Blue Velvet was born, strictly from the pure passion to music and to self expression through music. Blue Velvet is based in Cluj-Napoca and it's formed by Liviu Ichim (percussion), Marieta Manolache (voice), Szabolcs Antal (guitar) and Nicolae Dachin (bass). As the band was formed by jamming sessions in a cosy atmosphere, the sound of Blue Velvet is mainly an acoustic one, with warm vibes. As for the lyrics, they are versatile and go on from themes like inner struggles, society's absurd rules and love.
