Alice Phoebe Lou

Growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, Alice left home at the age of 17 on an unplanned trip to Europe, and discovered her love for street performance as she travelled from city to city. When she moved to Berlin a year later, she started her career as a street musician in earnest, drawing in an increasing number of listeners every time she played on street corners and train stations. Alice has now become a fixture of the city’s vibrant music scene. Alice played her first official show in July 2014 at Berlin’s Lido which quickly sold out .Last summer saw her playing shows and festival stages across Europe and the UK. She also playing showcases at both CMJ & SXSW, and performed and spoke at the 2015 TED Global event in London. Alice spent the beginning of 2016 on the road in her native South Africa with Sixto Rodriguez, followed by European Tours with Boy & Bear and Allen Stone and her own European tour in May. Alice has since released her debut album "Orbit" in Europe and has been nominated for the award for best female artist at the critics choice awards in Germany (Popkultur Awards). She now embarks on the journey to release her album in the US in Spring 2017 with the support of NY based label Washington Sq. Music.
