Alexis Ffrench

Alexis A. Ffrench is a classical pianist, improviser, and composer of rare distinction. In 1992 he made his concert debut as part of Sir Simon Rattle's Towards the Millennium Series. Subsequent appearances in the U.K have included concerts at The Barbican and South Bank Centres, as well as live broadcasts on Classic FM and across the BBC. His compositions range from scores for film and television to symphonic and chamber works for the concert hall. In 2009 Alexis released The Secret Piano, the first of his albums to gain widespread acclaim drew on influences as diverse as evocative classical minimalism, meditative trance, and romantic lyricism and, in a way reminiscent of such composers as Ludovico Einaudi, Philip Glass and Ryuichi Sakamoto. The album enjoyed extensive support from Classic FM, and the track A Wondrous Path has since been featured on two of the latest Barclaycard TV advertisements. Alexis followed up The Secret Piano with Piano Karma (2012), Stolen Lullabies (2013), Escape (2015) and The Piano Whisperer (2016). As with its predecessors, The Piano Whisperer was a Classic FM album of the week and Alexis continues to enjoy strong support from the station. His popularity has also manifested itself across online platforms. Alexis has a global Spotify listenership, currently standing at over 350,000 monthly listeners, and growing, whilst his top five tracks have a combined 25 million plays. Alexis’s music is resonating increasingly as his career gains momentum.
