akashita is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter and has recently released her debut solo album 'Blue Times and the B-Side'. She enjoys creating both original music and arranging covers, and alongside her solo project, works often as a sessions guitarist, bassist, percussionist, and vocalist. Her solo project is, "an effort to bring my little scraps of music, writing and visual art together." Her music is rooted in jazz and western classical, with variants of blues, folk, rock, ambient and pop, influenced by various artists spanning diverse genres: Frank Zappa, Soulmate, Ella Fitzgerald, Regina Spektor, The Smiths, Miles Davis, Slipknot... and several others that cannot be listed because that would be a whole other document.
