Abbey Rose

Abbey Rose is a Canadian born, Darwin-raised songwriter and performer, making music in Melbourne/Naarm. Heavily influenced by RnB, Hip Hop and enveloped in a warm Jazz-flavoured hug, Abbey Rose serves up rich lyricism, catchy hooks and grooves that get under your skin. Abbey’s early years as a solo artist in her hometown of Darwin saw her supporting acts such as NGAIIRE, Emma Louise and Kaki King, before moving to Melbourne to study Jazz Improvisation. Since then she has honed her vocal craft, formed her live band, released a collection of music and videos with various projects, and established herself as a passionate and unique storyteller. Recently one may also recognise her as 'Saucy Mama' from funky fem-hop outfit The Mamas. Abbey’s subject matter is always deeply personal, and discusses real events from her own life.
